Coverage Criteria: BEFORE, PM-JAY eligibility was restricted to economically vulnerable households identified by SECC 2011 data. NOW, all senior citizens aged 70 and above are eligible for the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card irrespective of their socio-economic status.

Benefit Allocation: BEFORE, elderly members shared the standard Rs 5 lakh family floater limit under PM-JAY. NOW, seniors aged 70 and above in existing PM-JAY families get a distinct additional Rs 5 lakh top-up exclusively for themselves, while those in non-PM-JAY families get a standalone Rs 5 lakh cover.
