International Recognition: BEFORE, the Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve was only recognized domestically under India's National Biosphere Reserve Programme. NOW, it is part of the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).

India's WNBR Tally: BEFORE, India had 12 biosphere reserves recognized by UNESCO's MAB programme (with Panna being the last addition in 2020). NOW, India has 13 internationally recognized sites out of its 18 domestic reserves.
