Earlier in 2025, this MoU was formally renewed during the 14th Joint Committee Meeting on Hydrography. In March 2025, PM Narendra Modi unveiled the 'MAHASAGAR' vision from Mauritius, structurally upgrading the 2015 SAGAR doctrine to integrate maritime security with trade and development across the broader Global South.
